WeRise It is a gamification mobile App that is available on iOS and Android devices, questioning gender stereotypes, and aims to change attitudes about gender roles and promote critical thinking among youth. 'WeRise' has customizing plug-ins and an interactive interface that make it easy to reward and notify users and drive positive behaviors.
I founded WeRise and created the idea from my belief in gender equality and the importance of using gamification as an element to promote gender equality and women empowerment, later I proposed the idea to UN Women Jordan and we co-developed the App in consultation with the Arabic HeForShe volunteers, civil society and other partners. The App is a mixture of hit mini-games and a community page in which users can share blog posts and questions, engage in discussions, and stay connected with the world's gender equality and women’s empowerment events through the in-app calendar.
WeRise will be accompanied by frequent monitoring mechanism tools and content to raise awareness to close gender gaps by breaking down the stereotypes in the new generation’s ways through media and gamification.
🌍 NOW WeRise is the UN Women Regional Gamification App, we enhanced the App and added more features, languages, and content to make it regional under the regional UN Women's ''Men and Women for Gender Equality'' programme -funded by Sweden-.
🚀 We launched the expansion plan for WeRise in the MENA region and I led the expansion strategy by networking with youth-led movements and volunteers from "Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Palestine" to make it global! 🇯🇴🇪🇬🇲🇦🇹🇳🇱🇧🇵🇸
