WeRise It is a gamification mobile App that is available on iOS and Android devices, questioning gender stereotypes, and aims to change attitudes about gender roles and promote critical thinking among youth. 'WeRise' has customizing plug-ins and an interactive interface that make it easy to reward and notify users and drive positive behaviors.
WeRise was developed by UN Women Jordan in consultation with the Arabic HeForShe volunteers, civil society and other partners. The App is a mixture of hit mini-games and a community page in which users can share blog posts and questions, engage in discussions, and stay connected with the world's gender equality and women’s empowerments’ events through the in App calendar.
WeRise will be accompanied by frequent monitoring mechanism tools and content to raise awareness to close gender gaps by breaking down the stereotypes in the new generation’ ways through media and gamification.
-> NOW during the second phase of the App, the regional UN Women's ''Men and Women for Gender Equality'' programme -funded by Sweden- are launching an expansion plan for WeRise in the MENA region.
